The 5th Momad Metrópolis fair will take place from 11 to 13 September in Madrid, and will be attended by 6 brands made in Portugal – Blackspider – Cervus Mannequins&Decoration – Cristina Barros – Givec – MRolo – SMF – who travel to the “land of our brothers” in an initiative implemented by the Associação Selectiva Moda, under the auspices of the From Portugal internationalisation project.

The Portuguese delegation is participating in this event for the second year running, with double the number of companies. Since its inception, the fair has undergone readjustments with respect to sectorisation, making it a much more attractive fair. Blackspider – Cervus Mannequins&Decoration – Cristina Barros – Givec – MRolo – SMF – are the 6 companies travelling to the Spanish capital with the support of the Associação Selectiva Moda.

For the first time in Madrid, Cervus Mannequins&Decoration presents its collection “Collection Cervus in Wonderland”. “The Momad Metrópolis is the largest exhibitor showcase in Spain and Portugal. Our goal is to expand the presence of Cervus mannequins in other countries, especially in Spain. We expect to close good deals and make known what we do in Portugal”, says Ana Carvalho, manager of the company.

Making its debut at Momad, SMF presents the main trends of its Autumn/Winter 2015/16 collection. “This is a European Union market where we have had customers since 2011, and where we have had many partners. Our main goal is to increase the number of customers in Spain and acquire new partners”, explains João Ramos, commercial director of the company.

Blackspider is taking to Madrid its clothing and accessories collection designed for women with a casual/chic touch. Also in the women's sector, the CristinaBarros brand is directed towards a high fashion segment with a target audience in the 20 to 65 years age range. Blouses and T-shirts for women that combine new materials and shapes are taken by GIVEC. M Rolo, a habitual participant in the fair, wants to “decorate and rehabilitate” outlets through its articles, which range from mannequins to sales equipment.

This year, the Momad Metrópolis fair features more than 1,400 exhibitors in an area coveringover 18,000 m2, an increase of 15% over last year. The objective this year will be to strengthen supply and transform the footwear showcase, as well as to consolidate the areas of women’s fashion, with an improvement in its sectorisation and an increase in the supply of medium-high range products, and Young, street and urban fashion and to leverage Children's fashion and men’s fashion. The event once again coincides with the fairs: Intergift, Bisutex and Madridjoya, making Madrid the largest and most complete fashion and market trend showcase in Southern Europe.

The participation of 6 Portuguese companies in another Momad Metrópolis show is an initiative promoted by the Associação Selectiva Moda co-financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) under the POCI (Operational Competitiveness and Internationalisation Programme), Portugal 2020 and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project consists of around 81 international initiatives that take place in the 2nd half of 2015 and 2016 covering the entire textile and fashion industry, spread across four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
