Being a market with around 40 million consumers and a growth rate above 2.5%, Poland is a country that offers numerous business and investment opportunities for Portuguese companies, and has become a desirable market for exports.

Blackspider Carjor SAGivecPlanitoiSanmartin – are the 5 Portuguese companies that will travel to Poznan, with the support of the Associação Selectiva Moda, under the auspices of the From Portugal internationalisation project.

A specialist in outer knitwear, Carjor SA is making its first appearance in this market. A collection of whole, seamless garments and 100% organic cotton applied in knitwear for babies are the highlights on display.
“Poland is a country with great potential for growth in the children's segment, and is located in a region neighbouring other major consumers: Germany and Russia. Due to the weather conditions, they are natural purchasers of outer knitwear. We aim to find partners/customers specialised in children's sector”, explains Honorato Sousa, sales director of the company.

A specialist in lace and ceremonial fabrics, Sanmartin recognises the importance of the Polish market. “We have been working with the Polish market for over 10 years, and as one of our most important international markets, this is an excellent opportunity to show off our new products to manufacturing companies”, says Alexandre Leitão, the company’s head of marketing. “Increasing recognition of the Sanmartin brand among manufacturing companies and trade fair visitors, thus continuing our role as a leading player in bridal fabrics and the Polish high fashion market”, he adds. Lace, embroidery for bridal and ceremonial gowns, jacquards and silks, as well as high-quality smooth fabrics: satin, organza, tulle, taffeta, chiffon and lacework, are the products on show.

Apart from around 500 brands on display, during the three-day fair, seminars, workshops, fashion shows and the latest trends will also be presented. This is one of the most important events in the region, attracting hundreds of international exhibitors and local buyers.

The participation of the five Portuguese companies in one more Poznan Fashion Fair edition is an initiative promoted by the Selectiva Moda Association, co-financed by the EU Structural and Investment Funds as part of the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (POCI), Portugal 2020, and COMPETE 2020. The FROM PORTUGAL project is made up of approximately 81 international activities which take place in the second half of 2015 and in 2016, covering the entire textile and fashion industry and spread over four continents, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.
