Istambul receives another edition of Textbridge and counts with the participation of three Portuguese companies – Albano Morgado, Arco Têxteis and Lipaco – which are supported by QREN and COMPETE in the scope of the project FROM PORTUGAL.

Istambul will receive three Portuguese companies in the next edition of Textbridge, which will be held from the 13th to the 15th of March in CRN Expo.
The national producers take their know-how and experience to Turkey. Albano Morgado, an expert in the market, will present its new collection of woolen fabrics appropriate to develop warm and comfortable collections. The woolen company from the region of Covilhã bets in this market where it already has an agent and intends to consolidate its relation between the clients and the agent.
Arco Têxteis, a debutant in this fair, takes its collection dedicated to the shirt industry. High quality fabrics with added value finishing are the bet of this company to conquer the Turkish market.
For Lipaco,  which will present two different types of product, this is an absolute première. On the one hand it bets in the range of threads with several compositions aimed for sewing and on the other hand in threads for the weaving industry.

Textbridge Istambul will gather about 250 exhibitors distributed by 20.000 m2  and counts with 10.000 visitors. Among them there will be buyers from Turkish textile companies as well as buyers from emerging countries such as the Persian Golf, the Middle East, Russia, Eastern Europe, Turkish Republics and the North of Africa.

Turkey is the third most populated country of Europe with a strategic geographic location between the West and the East. According to FMI in 2010 it was the 17th biggest world economy and the 7th biggest region of Europe and Asia with a GDP of 742 thousand million USD. In 2010 Portugal was the 52 supplier of Turkey with a market share of 0,27%.

The participation of the Portuguese companies in Textbridge is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitary fundings (QREN), inserted in the project From Portugal.
Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2013, with a program of international actions in 35 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles.
