PORTUGUESE LINGERIE SEDUCES NEW YORK

The American lingerie fair gathers around 300 exhibitors, three of whom Portuguese – Ghibi Sweet Chic – Intecol Hosiery and Iora Lingerie – in an initiative from Associação Selectiva Moda supported by Qren and Compete.

Big Apple receives another edition of Curve NY from the 24th to the 26th February. The fair will be held in Javits Center North and counts with the presence of three Portuguese companies – Ghibi Sweet Chic – Intecol Hosiery and Iora Lingerie – integrated in the internationalization project From Portugal implemented by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of Compete and Qren.

The American lingerie fair gathers around 300 exhibitors, three of whom Portuguese – Ghibi Sweet Chic – Intecol Hosiery and Iora Lingerie – in an initiative from Associação Selectiva Moda supported by Qren and Compete. In the luggage, the Portuguese companies present at the show, bring to the North American market the news and trends made-in Portugal which will dictate the fashion, in what concerns intimate wear, to the next cold season.

For the third time in this fair, Sweet Chic by Ghibi, the brand that Houspring takes to New York, it’s specialized in the development and production of homewear and casual shoes for women, men and children. Elegance, comfort and quality are the strongest points of the collection.

Iora Lingerie, a frequent presence in this show, presents the Autumn/Winter collection 13/14. Nightgowns, pyjamas and shirts will be the highlight. «The U.S.A. are an expanding market, so, we want to bet in the growth our business flow there», mentions Cristina Flores, general manager of the company.

Intecol, which premières in this edition of Curve NY, takes to New York its brand “Lady Suzy”, made up of everyday-wear socks and tights. «These are basic products and we try to pay attention to the new colours of the season – this year coral will be the hot colour! », explains Célia Macedo, general manager of the company. 

Curve NY is already a reference show for the lingerie market, being at the moment, the biggest fair of the segment in North America.

The participation of the Portuguese companies at Curve NY is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support from Compete and QREN, inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2013, with a program of international actions in 35 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles.
