GERMANY IN THE ORBIT OF PORTUGUESE COMPANIES

The German city of Munich will receive, from the 5th to the 7th February, a new edition of the exhibition Munich Fabric Start. During three days, 12 Portuguese companies will present their proposals regarding the fabrics which will make a point in the tendencies for the next Spring/Summer 14 season. In an era defined by the economic recession, innovation is the word to be retained and the Portuguese companies are betting all their credits in that same element.

The German city of Munich will receive, from the 5th to the 7th February, a new edition of the exhibition Munich Fabric Start. During three days, 12 Portuguese companies will present their proposals regarding the fabrics which will make a point in the tendencies for the next Spring/Summer 14 season. In an era defined by the economic recession, innovation is the word to be retained and the Portuguese companies are betting all their credits in that same element.

The German market still is a center of attention for the fabric Portuguese companies and this edition will, definitely, not be an exception, there will be 12 companies in the exhibition - A.Sampaio&Filhos SA – Adalberto Estampados – Arco Têxteis – Gierlings Velpor – Lemar – Living Colours&A Fiandeira – Paulo de Oliveira – Penteadora – SanMartin – Somelos Tecidos – Teviz – Troficolor - and these are supported by the Associação Selectiva Moda inside the internationalization project From Portugal.
During the three days of the fair, there will be in exhibition the main tendencies made in Portugal for the next hot season SS14 filled with reasons to conquer the international clients.

Well implemented in this market, Somelos Tecidos, will present its new Spring/Summer 14 collection of fabrics for men, women and children shirts. From the most classic to the sportiest, it is a wide-range collection with a special focus in washing. «Somelos exports to Germany, Switzerland and Austria, countries which are represented in the Munich fabric Start, and this fact make this fair really important to us. We hope to attract new clients, as well as to consolidate the ones we already have», states Sofia Sampaio, a company sales‘ representative.

Also Living Colours has in this fair the reference to the commercial development of its collection, being that the German market is extremely important. «Thinking that in the year 2012 we exported for 34 countries, Germany continues to be our most strong bet therefore, the Munich Fabric Start is the reference for the reception of our products», explains Hugo Azevedo, the responsible person for the development of the company products. Betting in the innovation and in the presentation of new products, this new SS14 collection presents compositions based in cotton and other natural fibers as linen and Rami. Emphasize for the new types of finishing’s in cotton fabrics which resemble the "laneira" finishing.

«The general economic situation in Europe is difficult, therefore, we have faith that this participation can help us consolidate and reinforce our commercial relations », refers Paolo Zantonelli, commercial manager of the company.
Penteadora presents a renovated collection with a wider variety of fabrics for jackets and trousers; color diversity and intensity; less traditional compositions, emphasizing the combinations with cotton, linen, rayon and bamboo.

This edition of the Munich Fabric Start presents itself under the slogan “Beauty Full”, beauty and diversity for the next hot season – Spring/Summer 14. The exhibition counts with the presence of almost 840 exhibitors which will present their main tendencies in an exhibition 
of 40 000 square meters.

The participation of the Portuguese companies at Munich Fabric Start is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support from Compete and QREN, inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2013, with a program of international actions in 35 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles.
