PORTUGUESE TEXTILES HEAD TO LATIN AMERICA

Centro de Convenciones, Plaza Mayor, in Medellín, will be the stage of this 25th edition of Colombiatex from the 22nd to the 24th January. Têxtil Serzedelo - Arco Têxteis – Gierlings Velpor – Lemar – Lipaco – Paulo de Oliveira – Rendibor – Teviz – are the eight companies which make part of the Portuguese delegation attending the event, supported by Associação Selectiva Moda in the scope of the project From Portugal.

Eight national companies head to Columbia in search of a boiling market and new businesses in one of the main markets available which presents a huge potential. 
Têxtil Serzedelo – Arco Têxteis – Gierlings Velpor – Lemar – Lipaco – Paulo de Oliveira – Rendibor – Teviz – are the eight companies which will attend the event, integrated in the internationalization  project From Portugal, implemented by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of Qren. 

Lipaco is a repeater in this stand with “the objective of finding a partner to install itself locally”, as states Jorge Pereira, the manager of the company. Rendibor, on its turn, will première in this market and as Francisco Teles de Menezes, the administrator of the company, has stated “we hope to manage to find new clients to increase our business portfolio”. 

Colombiatex, which is considered to be the biggest textile fair in Latin America is one of the widest halls in the area. The goal of this event is to show the novelties and trends of the textile market besides offering accessorize machines and equipment to the industries of fashion, clothing, home wear, footwear and leather goods. 

The participation of the Portuguese companies in Colombiatex is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitary fundings (QREN), inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2013, with a program of  international actions in 35 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles.
