PORTUGUESE FASHION BRANDS PRESENT NEW TRENDS AT MOMAD

Christina Félix, Cristina Barros, Guimanos, Kallison/ Bagoraz /Get In Vibe, M.Rolo, Scripta, Scusi, and SMF are the companies in the FROM PORTUGAL delegation participating in another edition of MOMAD to be held from the 15th to the 17th of September in Madrid.

An international reference in clothing and accessory fashion brands, MOMAD once again welcomes some of the most recognized European fashion brands to IFEMA in Madrid, including the already common and recognized FROM PORTUGAL.

Participating in the Madrid event for the 24th time, João Ramos, commercial director of SMF, garners “an average of fifty orders for each participation”. In this edition, João Ramos hopes to “consolidate the SMF brand in the Spanish market and attract new customers”. The commercial director argues that the customers might be surprised by the Autumn Winter 23/24 collection presented in Spain. “We focus on dark themes, illuminated by familiar femininity and minimalist looks (...) SMF also bets on subversive aesthetics with a leather-free capsule collection and the #blackwithblack concept, emerging as two of the most notable trends of this season", finishes.

With a focus on events and formal occasions, the Portuguese brand Christina Félix is equally with positive expectations for another participation in MOMAD: a regular exhibitor since 2004. “We have good expectations and hope to attract new customers as this fair becomes the meeting point among professionals from the Iberian Peninsula”, says Marcial Félix. With a clear focus on the Spanish market, the brand already has several meetings with its regular customers.

Despite considering that post-covid, MOMAD, like other events, “has been very unstable in terms of results”, it is with great curiosity that M Rôlo returns to the Madrid fashion event. “The main reason is to find new customers and see old customers from all over Spain. We will also present new features and hope to close good business opportunities”, says Ana Sampaio. As for the products presented, and with its core business in mannequins, M Rôlo confirms that it will have some new features, namely “a line with a more sustainable profile in a bid to reduce the ecological footprint”, concludes.

With extensive experience in international fairs, it is with a strong focus on the Spanish market that Cristina Barros returns to MOMAD. “It is not an international fair, but rather a fair dominated by the domestic market: the Spanish market. And it is precisely these customers that we focus on”, says Marco Costa, CFO of Blackspider, the company that owns the Cristina Barros brand. Regarding the new products, Marco Costa highlights “the quality of the Spring Summer 24 collection, always attentive to sustainability but also to the quality of the materials used”, with a remarkable focus on floral prints: “a mega trend of this collection”.

Having participated in the Madrid event for eight editions, the Portuguese brand Guimanos hopes to “consolidate its presence in the Spanish market and open doors for potential customers from other markets who can visit us there”, reveals Alexandra Vidigal from the commercial department.

The participation of Portuguese SMEs in MOMAD is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the textile sector. This fair is in the From Portugal project, within the scope of the application presented to the Portugal 2030 joint internationalization projects.
