PORTUGUESE QUARTET TAKES FASHION TO WHO’S NEXT PARIS

Cristina Barros, Lemon Jelly, SMF, and Sister Department are the companies from the FROM PORTUGAL committee to participate in another edition of Who’s Next from September 2nd to 4th in Paris. A reference platform in the fashion sector, Who’s Next welcomes four Portuguese companies that are confident for another edition of the Parisian event.

Sister Department is in one example. A brand of t-shirts and sweatshirts inspired by the concept of fun living, which returns for what will be its second participation in the fair. “We participated for the first time exactly one year ago, and it went way beyond our expectations, especially when compared to other experiences”, reveals Mariana Pimentel, who in addition to Sister Department, is also a partner at Piupiuchick, a Portuguese fashion brand for children with great international expression. “We have another experience. Many multipart stores already know us because of Piupiuchick. We also have an agent in France, so expectations are the best”. Under the theme “Summer Love”, the collection will be in Paris to present fun and colorful solutions.

SMF has participated in Who’s Next for more than ten years, which, says João Ramos, “is a fair with a specific type of customer and one that favors work by collections”. In fact, this is the main reason why SMF returns to the event after a break to present the Spring Summer 2024 Collection instead of taking ready-to-fashion items as it had done until now. “We believe that in this way we will return in force, attract the attention of buyers and, ideally, find a good agent”, projects João Ramos. In Paris, SMF guarantees a “very coherent” female collection, mid-range “for a sophisticated woman between 30 and 60 years old”.

The participation of Portuguese SMEs in WHO’S NEXT is an initiative of Seletiva Moda and ATP - Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the textile sector. This fair is in the From Portugal project, within the scope of the application presented to the Portugal 2030 joint internationalization projects.
