A COMMITTEE FROM PORTUGAL RETURNS ENTHUSIASTICALLY TO MUNICH FABRIC START

Bloomati, Fitecom, Iberis, Lemar, MMRA, Modelmalhas, Sanmartin, TMG Textiles/MGL, Troficolor, Victor Têxteis, Cityberia, Marjocri, Smsenra, Sourcetextile, Tricothius, Mtvbelts, together with the Portuguese companies Paulo de Oliveira and Somelos, are the companies from the FROM PORTUGAL committee to participate in another edition of MUNICH FABRIC START to be held from the 18th to the 20th of July in Munich, Germany.

With the anticipation for July, as with other international fairs, Munich Fabric Start (MFS) is back with a representative Portuguese committee. Like the case of TMG Textiles/MGL, explains Pedro Silva, MFS “allows for greater engagement of the collection with customers”. Aware that there is “a growing interest in fixing the supply network in Europe to the detriment of Asia”, TMG Textiles/MGL assumes high expectations for MFS. “The presence at this fair is a meeting point with our customers, a key moment”, adds Pedro Silva.

Participating in the German fair for half a dozen editions, it is with confidence that Bloomati is back. “The feedback has been positive. It is a fair where we establish good contacts and learn about new products sought after by Germans”, says Márcia Maciel. As for the collection, Bloomati reinforces its sustainable range with special pineapple finishes.

With the heavy weight of the participation in the renowned Munich fair, Lemar once again says “yes” to “consolidate the brand with customers and renew the offer with the market”, says José António Ferreira, who also reveals that the company will present a great novelty at this fair: “fabrics with fibers produced from end-of-life tires”.

With good prospects, thanks in part to the central location of its stand, MMRA assumes that it is interested “in all markets”. “We are going to present sustainable innovations such as organic cotton/banana/pineapple mixtures and even nettle, recycled cupro, among other innovations”, says Patrícia de Andrade.

Going back roughly two years ago, Troficolor argues that Munich Fabric Start is “a fair that brings together quality exhibitors and visitors from various geographic origins, mostly from European markets”, considering Daniel Azevedo. As for the collection, the export sales manager highlights the expansion of the offer “of denim and fabrics with BCI cotton, organic cotton with GOTS / OCS certification, recycled cotton and polyester with GRS / RCS certification”, as well as the new line of flannels, corduroys and padded.

In the sourcing area, expectations are also the best for another edition of the German fair. SanMartin, which sees the current dates as “an advantage as it anticipates all the creative work and choice of materials”, could not be more optimistic. “We always leave with great expectations for international fairs (...) we have the opportunity to present the innovations to our customers and to attract new customers as well”, says Vera Lúcia. Among the novelties, SanMartin highlights new articles for sublimation development, lace, brocades, and the collection of sustainable fabrics.

Marjocri, which is going to participate in the 4th event at the event, will present “products with a mixture of types of knits with combinations between circular knits and knits made on straight looms with textures and even knitted straight with an approximation to lace”, says Joana Moura. The company focused on attracting new customers in Northern Europe, does not doubt that it was MFS that “drove the Marjocri internationalization process”, concludes.

Believing that the chosen location for the fair is “exceptional” and that the date is also positive, Smsenra feels that this is a fair visited by entrepreneurs “who present results and seriousness throughout the process of launching new projects”, says Silvia Senra. With interest in the Nordic market, Germany, Austria, Denmark, and the Netherlands, the sourcing company will present novelties in clothing in “sustainable knits, careful finishing with holographic effects and mineral dyeing”, advances.

The participation of Portuguese SMEs in MUNICH FABRIC START is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the textile sector. This fair is included in the From Portugal project, within the scope of the application submitted to the Portugal 2030 joint internationalization projects.
