FROM PORTUGAL TAKES OVER THE BRITISH MARKET

Children's fashion offerings for Fall/Winter 2018 will be gathered together at the Business Design Centre in London, for an edition of Bubble London. It is with bags full of new products and the promise to surprise the British market, and more, that 10 Portuguese companies will be present in London, with the support of the Associação Selectiva Moda.

Blake -Bo-Bell – Children’s Co - Chua – DOT – Dr. Kid – Just Lovely - Meia Pata - RAP – Phi Clothing – are the 10 companies that make up the Portuguese delegation led by Associação Selectiva Moda, which will make their presence felt in London.

At its second outing at Bubble, Blake is presenting a unisex collection, where all the items were carefully designed for use by boys and girls. “We believe that the British market is the one most prepared for and receptive to changes in trends, which is why this is a very important market for us, since our brand also depends on changing the mindsets and behaviour of those buying it. We have seen that there is a new space for appreciating new brands with different ideas, such as ours”, explains Mariana Santiago.

A regular presence at this event, Chua will be highlighting new models of dresses at this edition. Olímpia Teixeira, the brand manager, stresses this market’s importance for the brand: “this is our best market, where we have till now been quite successful”.

A regular at Bubble, DOT is presenting its collection ranging from newborns right up to boys and girls aged 12. The details are the highlight of the collection, in which cotton plays the leading role.

Another “habitué” at this fair, Dr.Kid is carrying bags full of trends to London. According to Liliana Ferraz, from the company’s marketing department, “this new collection will transport us to a world of dream and fantasy, inspired by “vintage” toys, such as rag dolls, airplanes and carousels. As materials are our forte, we highlight the use of cashmere, wool and cotton”.

Socks, tights and shoes for fall/winter 2018 are the products on display at the stand of Meia Pata, which is making its début at this edition of the London fair. “Our brand is known for products of excellent quality and innovative design, created to give greater comfort and stability to children. This time, we are focussed on international expansion, and the British market is one of the big investments for 2018, as it identifies with our level of product quality, while also opening doors to other market in which we wish to work”, explains Diogo Marques.

According to José Moreira, manager of PhiClothing, this is an important fair, “our previous participations have shown us that this is an event of reference in the UK market. Our main objectives are to make new contacts and increase our presence in this market.”

The participation of these 10 Portuguese companies in Bubble London is an initiative promoted by Selectiva Moda and ATP - Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal (Association of Textiles and Clothing of Portugal), which aims to promote the internationalisation of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The From Portugal 2017 project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation.
