PORTUGUESE TEXTILES PROVIDE HEALTH IN DUSSELDORF

From the 16th to the 19th November the Portugese companies Fitor, Flex 2000, NGWear, Tamancão Tricela (Endutex Group) and Fitor will mark their presence in the biggest European fair dedicated to the Health and Medical Care sector – Dusseldorf and Compamed Medica – to show the latest textile innovations that promise to improve the Europeans’ health.

Several conferences will take place in this international fair which gathers more than 4.400 exhibitors from 60 countries in areas such as electro medicine / medical technology, laboratory / diagnose technology, physiotherapy / orthopedics, medicinal products, information and communication technology, textiles, medical furniture and facilities management. We anticipate  the visit of more than 137 thousand professionals in a fair which counts with six Portuguese companies in the textile area that are in Dusseldorf in an Associação Selectiva Moda initiative with the support of Qren.
Flex 2000 will present mattresses, pillows and positioners aimed at the hospitalar, senior homes and healthcare sector. NGWear will show its developments in the area “No Mosquito”, a collection of protective clothing that hinders mosquito bites, which may cause not only problems such as local discomfort, itching, irritation and infection but also serial diseases such as dengue, yellow fever or malaria. In what concerns diabetic problems Tamancão will present a collection which has been specially designed to meet the needs of those who suffer from feet problems due to diabetes, but also to people with swollen feet, callus, deformities and other problems. Tricela (Endutex Group) Works essentially in the area of mattress protectors and pillows for hospitalar usage. Fitor will present its products in a fair which takes place in parallel – COMPAMED - showing its synthetic strings mainly aimed at the production of socks, sports items, clothing and domestic furniture.
The participation of these six Portuguese companies in Medica and Compamed is an initiative from Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of communitarian funding (QREN) and inserted in the project From Portugal. 
Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies, counting, in 2011, with a program of 61 international actions in 26 distinct markets, aimed at the areas of strings, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles, decoration textiles and technical textiles with an investment of 7,43 million euro.
