PRODUCTS FROM PORTUGAL SHAKE NEW YORK

The summer edition of NY Now will take place from August 20 to 23 at the Javits Center, which will be attended by 4 Portuguese companies, which are part of the Portuguese delegation led by Selectiva Moda, an action carried out within the scope of the internationalization project From Portugal.

Bovi - Burel Mountain Originals - Freitas & Dores - Sorema - are the 4 companies that make up the Portuguese delegation supported by Selectiva Moda. The national offer is characterized by diversity and is distinguished by the quality and design of its products, creativity and innovation.

For the first time with Bovi's own stand, it's back to the show after its first approach to the market has been positive. "We chose this fair for the positive results obtained in a first approach of the BOVI brand to the US market. We opened a permanent showroom in Atlanta, and this stake in NY Now is part of the expansion plan for our brand in this market, "explains Gabriel Ribeiro. In focus will be a collection designed and developed exclusively for the American market, a wide range of textiles for the home, bed, table and a range of baby. "BOVI now has a permanent stock in the US, as well as a dedicated team, enabling fast and efficient service in the B2B segment. This participation aims to boost our presence in the local market, with independent stores and some large chains, "he adds.

A regular presence at this event, Burel Mountain Originals presents in this next exhibition a new collection of throws, blankets and cushions, and a new wall covered with a new 3D woolen stitch to showcase the avant garde in the trend of wall coverings and furnishing upholstery. "With new patterns and new colors created exclusively by the brand, Burel comes with a new collection colored in novelties, home decor objects and more modern lines still woven by the ancestral knowledge as it always did”, says Romeu Lebres, brand Marketing & Communication Manager

In its third participation, the brand Freitas & Dores, a specialist in the production of home decoration articles in tin, has as main objective to solidify the presence in this market and find distributors. "We intend to conquer this market and find distributors for our products, increase the range of customers and reach other states," says Orquídea Dores from the company's export department.

In its first edition, Sorema will present its Graccioza brand, in the collection that will be presented for 3 different basic ranges with towels, rugs, bath exits and bathrobes available in 36 colors. "Innovative products, both in materials as the productive and creative process, focusing simultaneously on design and comfort", says Fábio Faria, brand marketing & communication. For this first participation the expectations are positive "it is our expectations that the fair will allow an increase of the awareness of the brand next to the US market and also contribute to the growth of the renown of our products and our quality next to the customers who visit us", adds.

NY Now is the largest U.S. show in the area of decor and gift, and is divided into three major areas: Home, Lifestyle and HandMade. In its last edition gathered around 2500 expositor brands.

The participation of 4 Portuguese companies in NY Now, is an initiative promoted by Selectiva Moda and ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal (Association of Textiles and Clothing of Portugal), which aims to promote the internationalisation of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The From Portugal 2017 project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation. The value of eligible support totals EUR 12,422,824.75 of which EUR 6,815,741.00 are provided by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
