Autumn-winter 2014/2015 is going to be dressed with fabrics “made in Portugal”, as the offer at Milano Unica shows. Portuguese wools, tartans and velvets dictate the trends for all occasions, always with the special touch of this industry that perfectly conjugates production’s know-how with avant-garde creativity.

Albano Morgado, Arco Têxteis, Gierlings Velpor, ITS/ Somelos Tecidos, Lemar, Paulo de Oliveira, Penteadora, Riopele and Tessimax are in this Italian textile fair to show the lines that will sew the fashion of next year’s cold season, with proposals that promise to fight the freezing temperatures with style and elegance.

At Albano Morgado, wool, alone or in noble blends, gives the motto for the most beautiful and warm fabrics, with different structures and textures to create luxurious clothing. «We are presenting a collection mainly with wool/cashmere blends, with new graphics, especially prints», unveils the administrator Baltazar Lopes. Proposals designed to seduce the major Italian brands and retailers, to whom Milano Unica is a mandatory rendez-vous. «We intend to keep the bet on this trade fair in order to consolidate the market, not only through the loyalty of clients, but also through the conquer of new ones», he says.

Simple blends, with high quality yarns and noble materials, «for an unexcelled comfort», punctuate Arco Têxteis’ collection, «composed by exquisite fabrics for all occasions: formal, casual and sport», unveils export manager Carlos Bacelar. «Since it is a market composed by top brands and world references, it is a must to attend», he underlines, regarding the constant presence of the company in this trade fair.
Riopele, on its side, with a history of 86 years in the art of weaving, presents in Milan «structured fabrics, double and tartans in several product typologies», states Rita Fortes, underlining that the company is «increasingly transversal regarding the end use of the fabrics». A bet to achieve the goal of «to consolidate the Italian market, since it’s the major groups that make all the difference in this market», concludes the marketing director.

The participation of these nine Portuguese companies at Milano Unica, which takes place September 10th - 12th, is an initiative promoted by Associação Selectiva Moda with the support of European funds (Qren), under the project From Portugal. This project includes more than 60 international actions planned for 2013, which cover the entire textile and fashion chain, from yarns to fabrics, apparel, technical textiles, home textiles and decoration, divided by four continents: Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
