LIGHT AND EXOTIC COLOURS IN LILLE

Lille Grand Palais will be the stage for another edition of Fast Fashion Lille next 5 and 6 June. This year there will be 18 Portuguese stands, synonymous with the strong investment in this market. This initiative is promoted by the Selective Fashion Association, within the internationalisation project From Portugal, supported by NSRF and Compete (Competitiveness Factors Operational Programme).

Fast Fashion Lille, an exhibition that brings together Tissu Premier (dedicated to fabrics and raw materials) and Collections (clothing and accessories), will host 18 Portuguese companies in this event. This edition will have the largest ever Portuguese participation, which demonstrates the major investment by Portuguese companies in this market.

Tissu Premier is an area that features 120 exhibitors, of which six are Portuguese: A Têxtil Serzedelo - Acatel - Celostecelagem - Gulbena - Lipaco - Tinamar. 12 Portuguese companies will exhibit in Collections - Confeções Luso Sueco - Dielmar - Flor da Moda - Garbo - Givec - Gouveia&Campos - Iodo Jeans - Naughty Kid - Orfama - R. Lobo - Raith – Teamstone, an area targeting the presentation of collections of clothing and accessories, private label, for men, women and children.

In a return to this event, A Têxtil Serzedelo will present a collection in which poplins for medium/high quality shirts with enzymatic and smoothed finishes are emphasised. "This is a market we already know, but it still has potential, as such, we want to make contact with new customers" Fernando Carneiro, the company’s Commercial Director, explains.

Lipaco will once more be present in Tissu Premier. "Our participation in Tissu Premier is a consequence of our focus on the French and Belgian markets, because of the diversity of workshops in the two countries,” says Jorge Pereira, CEO of the company. Highlights are threads for pelts, sewing threads and textured threads, with and without gloss, for the trimmings sector.

Acatel, new to these fairs, is taking dyed/printed woven and knitted fabrics to Lille. "We want to expand our market selling finished knitted fabrics. This is our first fair, and we’re hoping it will go well!” David Sampaio, the company’s Commercial Director, explains.

In Collections, the Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collections and a preview of the of Summer 2014 collection will be presented. The Portuguese collections being shown are one of the main attractions of this edition of the fair.

For the first time in Lille, Garbo presents its "Outwear" collection, consisting of casual and sporty clothing, ideal for day-to-day relaxing moments. "We want to use our participation to expand our brand to other countries that are still outside our sales and export markets. Networking and establishing partnerships is our main goal," Sara Ferreira, the company’s Commercial Director, explains.

Another highlight will be the "From Portugal" Forum, which will be on display during the two-day fair, an innovative space that brings together products from Portuguese companies in the areas of women's, men’s, children’s and babies’ apparel.

The organisation of the event is the responsibility of Eurovet, which has prepared an extensive parallel programme for these two days. In addition to the four forums that will be on display, featuring the much awaited fashion trends, there will also be meetings that will address such topics as: "The Future of Retail” and “Sustainable Development”.

The participation of the Portuguese companies at Fast Fashion Lille is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda with the support from Compete and QREN, inserted in the project From Portugal. Associação Selectiva Moda is an entity which promotes the internationalization of Portuguese companies and counts, in 2013, with a program of international actions in 35 distinct markets, targeting the areas of threads, tissues and accessorize, fashion, home textiles and technical textiles.
