Portuguese entourage takes the children's fashion creativity and innovation to Playtime Paris

“Be Happy” is the motto of Playtime Paris next edition, which promises to bring together the entire international children's fashion industry in the French capital from January 25th to 27th. Portugal already has reason to smile, bringing to Paris a strong entourage of brands, determined to show in the French capital the quality and excellence of the Portuguese design.

Considered one of the most important children's fashion fairs in the international scene, Playtime Paris returns to the Parc Floral de Paris, from January 25th to 27th. “BE HAPPY” is the theme of this Parisian fair that promises a lot of colour and creativity in the 500 collections present at the event.

Dot Baby, Knot, Möm(e), MimiChic and Noogmi are the five From Portugal brands that will mark their presence in yet another edition of Playtime. The Asian and the Middle East markets are, along with Europe, the main targets of the Portuguese companies present in this edition of the Parisian fair.

With several editions of Playtime Paris already in its portfolio, Knot admits that participating “in this type of fairs ends up bringing an international visibility to the brand that would otherwise be very difficult to obtain. We were always able to get contacts from new customers and multi-brand stores from around the world, thus helping the brand to grow outside Portugal”. Inês Amaral, head of Marketing & Communication for the Portuguese brand, reveals that Knot will take to Paris its “Fall-Winter 2020 collection, called “We look at the same sky ”. Is a collection inspired by the Asian culture, and in particular in the strong connection and appreciation that these countries have for Mother Nature. Our pieces, for newborns and babies from 0 to 36 months, respect more than ever the materials’ nature”, she adds.

MimiChic, which debuts this January at Playtime Paris, says that “last year we began the brand’s internationalization by attending fairs held in Spain. Now we want to extend the brand to other European and non-European markets, and we think Playtime is the right fair for that purpose.” Inês Peliz, one of the creators of the Portuguese brand also admits that “expectations are high. We hope to get customers not only from Europe, but also from Asia, Africa and the Middle East”.

Also partaking for the first time in the children's fashion fair in Paris is Noogmi. The brand that creates shoes and accessories with materials such as burel, does not hide that “expectations are high because it’s the first time we participate. As for the markets, we are aiming for the Nordic market”. Regarding the participation in Playtime Paris, Alexandra Ogando, the brand’s communication director believes that this participation “will be good for promoting Noogmi, as well as to boost the brand’s growth”, she concludes.

The Portuguese companies participation in Playtime Paris is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €11.042.311,82, of which €6.065.501,91 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
