FROM PORTUGAL BRINGS NEWS TO PLAYTIME PARIS

Bootani Kids, Möm(e), Mrs. Ertha, Peter Jo, and Suuky are the From Portugal companies that will be present at the Playtime Paris children's fashion fair, from the 28th to the 30th of January, at Parc Floral. Among the common objectives of this participation is to make their brands known to new markets and recover the flow of pre-pandemic contacts.

Participating for the first time, Mrs. Ertha is enthusiastic about the preparations. “Our objective with this presentation is to make our brand known to more people and, above all, to consolidate our list of partner stores in France”, says Silvia Plácido. “Although we are taking almost the entire collection to the exhibition, we will give greater prominence to the Summer novelties. The bikinis, sunglasses and swimming glasses, digital cameras, our silicone sandals, and flip flops and the beach toys that were a success last year”, says the founder of the brand.

“We expect that the movement at the fair will return to the levels of early 2020. The feedback we have from some customers, namely from the US and Japan, is that they will be in person at Playtime 2023”, says Inês Camano Garcia, founder of Möm(e). In this edition, he will be making known Chapter II of the 'me.mó.ria' collection for autumn-winter 23. “The collection continues with pieces from 0 to 12 years old and has some exclusive pieces for adults following the previous chapter. One of the novelties will be the brand's pattern introduction in some pieces. Finally, the timeless pieces will remain, and customers can expect to see them at Playtime as a complement to the new collection”, summarizes Inês.

To bring greater awareness, Bootani Kids repeats its presence at Playtime. “We will present AW23/24 and SS23 collections because, given our production ease, we can accept orders from retailers, even when the collection is already in force. In our AW23, we want to remind you that freedom is as important as playing”, says Rita Domingues, co-founder. The collection is called ‘Woodland Playground’ and features clothes, and accessories such as socks and backpacks, always following a practical lifestyle.

Peter Jo is interested in getting more orders for the upcoming season and finding a reliable agent for the US market. “We have seen a sharp drop in participation at fairs by shopkeepers and agents from different countries in general, and we hope that this trend will be different for this season”, says Anna Sheludk, commercial sales. The new collection follows a unisex style for children and women: “the collection is an inspiration of artisanal arts. Dedicated to women/mothers and children, it has an emphasis on unisex styles and designs. The collection focus is always on soft organic fabrics”, he concludes, thus demonstrating the dedication to sustainability.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in Playtime Paris is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Textile sector. Playtime Paris is included in the “From Portugal” Project within the application submitted to the joint projects for the Internationalization of Portugal 2030.
