From hiking to extreme sports, all major sports brands will gather in Munich from June 30th to July 3rd to attend Outdoor by ISPO, the largest international fair on the subject. Among the exhibitors will be several Portuguese companies, with the aim of reaffirming their position in this strategic market.

A.Sampaio & Filhos, Aloft, Ditchil, Easy Walk Experience, Faria da Costa, Lemar, Repeltec and Têxteis Sancar will be present at the fair under the From Portugal project, an entourage that will be accompanied by the CITEVE research centre. At the fair, the Portuguese companies will be able to contact with thousands of visitors, including agents, distributors, the sector’s specialists and buyers of the major European brands.

Leaving for Munich, the Portuguese representatives’ strategy is essentially to present new products. Each of the companies looks to the fair as a unique opportunity and wants to take advantage of it to differentiate themselves in the international markets.

"This event is an international reference in terms of technical materials and accessories for water, snow and adventure sports, sectors that demand the highest performance and innovation", explains Pedro Castro, Aloft’s sales director, which in Munich will present several novelties for the sector of soles and technical components for footwear.

The same willingness to introduce new products is shared by the Ditchil team. "There are agents and distributors who want to meet us in person, and we will take advantage of our Autumn/Winter 2019 and Spring/Summer 2020 collection," explains Vânia Cardoso, commercial manager of Ditchil, a Portuguese brand of women's sportswear. At the fair, the company will present its new pieces for fitness, paddle and tennis, with hopes of dazzling new buyers, especially in the German market.

Repeltec also leaves for Munich with high expectations. "We believe that our technology will arouse the interest of the largest players in this market," says Miguel Gomes, the company’s COO, which will present a new range of repellent products for the textile industry, which promises to attract attention from nature sports oriented clothing brands.

Regarding footwear, one of the highlights of the Portuguese delegation are the "Lolitas", a line of sports ballerina shoes developed by Easy Walk Experience. "With the presentation of this product at ISPO, we expect to find buyers from the European continent, but also from Asian and Latin American countries," explains Élio Parodi, the company’s CEO.

The Portuguese companies participation in Outdoor by ISPO is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €12,118,285.17, of which €6,695,352.55 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
