A HAND FULL OF PORTUGUESE COMPANIES FLY TO MAGIC LAS VEGAS

Bravian, JEF – José Fernandes, GivaChoice, Marita Moreno, Marina Iglesias Jewelry and Only Aspeto are the six companies that make up the FROM PORTUGAL entourage, which will be present at another edition of MAGIC LAS VEGAS, from February 14th to 16th, at the Vegas Convention Center, in the United States of America.

Debuting its intercontinental participations at MAGIC LAS VEGAS, the sustainable brand Marita Moreno said “yes” to this new challenge with great enthusiasm. “The US is the biggest economy in the world, and we are already there in editorials and in Covet Fashion, the biggest fashion game in the world. So, we thought it would make perfect sense to be present at this fair. California is the most sustainable state in the USA, and we feel that there is a greater concern with sustainability on the West Coast. In these states, environmentally conscious and slow fashion brands are more represented”, justifies Marita Setas Ferro, the creator of the brand, which flies to Las Vegas to make the brand known, consolidate new markets, and attract new customers.

JEF –José Fernandes has similar expectations. The brand, which is participating for the first time in this event, expects to “expand the brand internationally and consolidate its notoriety and expansion”, says Carla Maldonado, project coordinator. With its eyes set on the North American market, but without neglecting other potential customers, the Portuguese company will bring to Las Vegas “a collection full of quality, where sustainable materials are allied to JEF’s design”, he concludes.

With the North American market in its DNA, Bravian returns to Las Vegas for its third participation, believing that “the American consumer has all the characteristics we envision when we create our collections”, justifies Andreia Silva, manager of the brand of men's fashion. For this edition, Bravian prepared a collection inspired “in urban techwear: full of playful and funny motifs, such as Tetris and Lego”, explains Andreia, also highlighting the pieces made from burel, apple waste and recycled cotton.

Also making an absolute debut at international fairs, and choosing MAGIC LAS VEGAS for this important step, is GivaChoice, which, as a result of several partnerships, is taking to Las Vegas “a set of pieces with different colours and textures, but with a cohesive and contemporary palette. The goal is to make known not only our quality, but also our flexibility and easy approach”, explains Sofia Vieira. Now focused on the American market, the Portuguese company already has an interesting portfolio of customers in Europe, Canada and Australia.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in MAGIC LAS VEGAS is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda and ATP – The Portuguese textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, and Lisbon 2020 - Lisbon Regional Operational Program, with an eligible support amount of €6,648,794.78 , of which €3,735,305.80 come from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund.
