FROM PORTUGAL COMMITTEE RETURNS TO INTERGIFT

Carlos Américo, Dilina Têxteis Lda, JOAFIL, Rio Sul Lda, and Têxteis Iris are the companies from the FROM PORTUGAL committee to participate in another edition of INTERGIFT to be held from the 1st to the 5th of February, at IFEMA, in Madrid, Spain.

Dilina Têxteis, Lda has joined the Madrid home decoration textiles show since 1996 and, in this edition, located in pavilion 7, António Dinis, CEO of Dilina Têxteis, explains that “we don't use collections, so we bet on our usual products with some novelties in terms of colors and fluff”. Without creating great expectations regarding participation in the event, at the stand of the Caminha company, which excels in the use of natural fibers, António Dinis explains that it will be possible to “find softer tones, such as whites and dry greens, but also black linen duvets in the range dedicated to hotels”.

Also a regular presence at Intergift since 2008, Rio Sul Lda “will present – as always – the new bed and table collection and will also present novelties more geared towards the summer”, revealed Joana Correia, product and purchasing director at Rio Sul, stressing that “we have no set expectations, we will wait to see how the event unfolds”.

A constant presence at Intergift, Têxteis Iris will present “articles that characterize the company, linen towels, combined with our good taste and design in bed and bath linen”, says Sérgio Mendes, commercial director. As for the novelties, “like in other sectors, in table linen, we bet on light tones, namely 100% cotton piquet bedspreads as in sheets”. With high expectations for the event, Têxteis Iris “hopes to reach those customers, those more special groups” at Intergift, and “they are always looking for new markets, new events, and new exhibitions and are preparing the stand for the Abup Decor Show in São Paulo”, emphasizes the commercial director.

Finally, Carlos Américo makes his debut at Intergift as a first step in internationalization. “We are a company with high turnover in mainland Portugal and islands, and now we intend to expand, and we are starting in Madrid”, explains Miguel Ferreira, Account Manager at Carlos Américo. “With Madrid as a springboard for sustained internationalization”, Carlos Américo will present “sheets with digital printing, and we will present a synergy between digital printing and embroidery”, clarifies the Account Manager. The company that produces bed linen will bet on an “earth concept and, therefore, focused on sustainability, since digital printing is made based on water and therefore respects the environment”, he stresses, adding Carlos Américo wants to continue his journey abroad.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in Intergift is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Fashion area. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible amount of support of €11,042,311.82 of which €6,065,501.91 are from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund.
