PORTUGUESE COMPANIES TRAVEL TO THE LONDON TEXTILE FAIR

Albano Morgado, 6Dias Têxteis, Fitecom, Lemar, LMA, Magma Têxtil, MGL-TMG, Troficolor, and Vilarinho are the Portuguese companies in the From Portugal committee. Adalberto Estampados, Paulo de Oliveira, Penteadora, and Bloomati by Carvema also joined the committee on the 10th and 11th of January, in London, in another edition of The London Textile Fair.

Repeated in its participation in this fair, Lemar returns to this event for considering it “a traditionally strong market”, and representative in the universe of the clients from the company, explains Flávio Dias, responsible for the United Kingdom market. “We will focus on expanding the ranges of fabrics we produce from scratch with sustainable or recycled fibers that are always certified. Namely with the introduction of more references produced with recycled QNOVA polyamide and the first-hand presentation of fabrics made with new EVO fibers, BIOCARE, BY NATURE, and QCYCLE”, added Flávio Dias.

Also a regular exhibitor at this fair, Troficolor explains that it will “present the SS24 collection, with which we intend to convey diversity and timelessness. For this season, more than developing new items, we seek to add diversity to our collection, giving new life to timeless fabrics from previous collections! This season, we highlight our range of Tencel articles, light, and fluid, with excellent thermal regulation capacity. Moreover, Linen/Hemp articles, which come from nature, are fresh and versatile, ideal for hot days, and ECRU fabrics, fabrics ready to use in natural color without resorting to dyeing processes. We complement the collection with a line of padded items in various formats and jacquard-look items with different designs suitable for differentiating styles”, explains Ana Magalhães, export sales manager.

Adalberto Estampados is also back on the British market and will present the “Spring-Summer 2024 collection but with a broader approach to our product portfolio. We will present a series of textile solutions: printing techniques, special finishes, greater emphasis on flat items, in addition to our printed collection", explains Tâmara Martins, the account manager. Tâmara Martins adds that "aims to reinforce our image and expand our share of the British market.

As for the novelties to be presented in London, 6Dias Têxteis has fabrics mainly made from sustainable fibers, such as organic cotton, recycled cotton, Tencel, Ecovero, and mixes with bamboo and easy-care finishes. Rustic, textured fabrics with creative stripes are the highlight for the Spring Summer 24 season. “For 2023, our focus is to continue to expand in the international market and work more and more towards the sustainability and traceability of the production chain”, reveals Isabel Cardoso, commercial manager.

Penteadora is back in London and focused on the new Re.Born range – under the motto REUSE, REDUCE/ RETHINK – a commitment to mixing noble and natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and linen with recycled. After a final result corresponding to the expectations and goals planned for the last edition with the return to normality, this time, “the objective is to re-establish direct contact with our customers, with this type of event being the ideal place for this”, added Ruben Nascimento, company manager.

As for Fitecom, João Carvalho, CEO of the company, reveals that “we are going to make a strong bet on the combination of linens with cold wools, stretch linens with the weft and with low grammage”.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in The London Textile Fair is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Textile sector. London Textile Fair is in the “From Portugal” project, within the scope of the candidacy presented by joint projects for the Internationalization of Portugal 2030.
