GOLFINHO SPORTS AT ISPO ONLINE TO CONQUER NEW MARKETS

Debuting at digital fairs, it is with great expectation that Golfinho Sports marched towards its participation at ISPO Munich, which will take place between February 1st and 5th. The Portuguese brand of articles for water sports wants to expand to new markets, and it is preparing to double the company’s production capacity - at a time when exports already represent almost 50% of sales.

“We were accustomed to physical participation and direct contact with customers, but this was the year in which all events became digital, forcing us to readjust. So, it is with great expectation that we participate for the first time in a completely different scenario”, admits Nuno Arcanjo, CEO of the Portuguese brand.

A regular at the biggest international fairs since 2013, Golfinho Sports specializes in articles for “swimming, water training, aqua fitness, rehabilitation, water polo, life-saving equipment, competition equipment, and sports facilities gear”. The company has clients in 30 countries dispersed through Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Aware that “physical presence is undoubtedly a form of closer interaction with those who visit us”, Nuno Arcanjo believes, however, that the digital version of ISPO Munich will allow “welcoming a greater number of visitors because anyone connected can be present. And by not being conditioned by space or other physical limitations, we have the opportunity to show a greater variety of products”, he considers.

Therefore, the main goal for this first digital experience, discloses the CEO of Golfinho Sports, is to increase the brand’s client portfolio in the European market. “We are preparing to double our space and production capacity – in order to improve the company’s response ability –, so expanding into new countries and markets it’s important to us. Currently, we are betting strong on the European continent, in order to consolidate the brand, but we are always eager to find new customers in new markets”, he justifies.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in ISPO Munich Online is framed by the From Portugal project, an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization.
