After a year in Madrid, the children's fashion fair FIMI returns, from January 24TH to 26TH, to Valencia, Spain. The Portuguese delegation, made up of ten companies, is enthusiastic about the novelties.

The return to the city of Valencia is the main novelty of the next edition of FIMI, the largest children's fashion fair in the Spanish market, which last year was temporarily located in Madrid. From January 24th to 26th, the event returns to the Mediterranean coast, the momentum promises to remain, and Portugal is once again among the main highlights, with strong brands present.

A&J, Baby Gi, Beppi Kids, És Parte de Mim, FS Baby, Maria Chicória, Meia Pata, Peter Jo Kids, Phi Clothing and Ponto por Ponto are the Portuguese brands that will participate in the Spanish fair, with the support of the From Portugal project, from Associação Selectiva Moda.

Always with good results at FIMI, where they have been participating since the brand’s start, Baby Gi will be once again present at the Spanish children's fashion fair, ready to “present the AW20 collection”, dedicated to the newborn and baby segments. Alfredo Moreira, the brand's general manager, admits, however, that given the fair’s return to Valencia, "it's hard to have any expectations because we don't know how customers will react to the change."

Already with three regular customers confirmed to be at FIMI, Sílvia Marques, from the brand Ponto por Ponto, recalls that “Pitti Bimbo, in Italy, happens a week before FIMI. We look forward to being visited by some customers from Italy as well”. The company that specializes in ceremonial outfits also hopes to “consolidate and increase sales in the Spanish market”.

With the expectation of “finding mostly buyers from Spain and South America, and fewer buyers from other EU countries”, Peter Jo Kids will be present for the second consecutive time at the Spanish children's fashion fair. Anna Sheludko, responsible for the company's Design & Marketing areas, also admits that the goal is to diversify “the geographic layout and expand the B2B channel”.

Also back to another edition of FIMI is BEPPI, which, according to Hugo Silva, the company's commercial director, is going to “to present the winter 2020 collection, as well as to promote strongly our latest bet: the Breezy Rollers, a shoe with wheels”.

The Portuguese companies participation in FIMI is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €11.042.311,82, of which €6.065.501,91 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
