From Portugal delegation strongly confident at Pitti Bimbo

The Fortezza da Basso, in Florence, Italy, welcomes once again, from January 16th to 18th, another edition of Pitti Bimbo. Considered the best international children's fashion fair, Pitti Bimbo’s 90th edition will host a strong From Portugal entourage.

It is with great enthusiasm that the From Portugal delegation, made up of seven companies, returns to Fortezza de Basso to Pitti Bimbo’s 90th edition. A round number that will count with new brands, more fashion shows and conferences, and a new area dedicated to innovation and experimental brands.

Experienced in the Italian market, Meia Pata wants to take advantage of their new location, due to a redesign of the floor plan where they had previously been installed in, "to create a new stand, with greater visibility". Carla Areal, CEO, says that the brand will bring to Pitti Bimbo “more than 50 colours and 100 models, all 100% made in Portugal, ranging in ages from newborn to 12 years old”. The CEO also admits that “markets like Russia, Germany and the Nordic countries are our targets, and we hope to have some visits from them at this fair”.

Also hoping to find buyers “from markets like Russia, France, Greece or even Lebanon”, FS BABY is going to present at Pitti Bimbo its new OEKO-TEX 100% certificate. Rodney Duarte has no doubt that “this is the most important fair we participate in, and the world reference in children's fashion”. Therefore, FS BABY will present in Florence “more items in organic cotton, for babies and newborns”, he adds.

A bunch of novelties that don’t end up on the clothing articles since the shoe brand BEPPI promises “to present the winter 2020 collection, as well as to promote strongly our latest bet: the Breezy Rollers, a shoe with wheels”. Hugo Silva, the company's commercial director, admits that Pitti Bimbo is “a worldwide reference in the child segment”, despite considering that the trade show concept may be endangered.

More enthusiastic is YAY that having debuted at Pitti Bimbo’s latest edition, in June 2019, wants to “publicize the brand even more, and show customers that we are here to stay”. Alicia Lopes, one of YAY's mentors, says the brand will present “the fado collection, which, besides being very comfortable, addresses a very solemn Portuguese theme and turns it into a very colourful and childlike collection”. However, the big novelty “is the newborn line” that the Portuguese brand will debut at Pitti Bimbo.

Consolidating the market and increasing turnover are Phi Clothing's main priorities in another participation in Pitti Bimbo. José Moreira, CEO, says that the brand will bring to Florence “a totally new collection, always in a classic and timeless style”. “Besides the Italian market, we want to sign customers from the Middle East and from the East”, he concludes.

The Portuguese companies participation in Pitti Bimbo is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €11.042.311,82, of which €6.065.501,91 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
