It’s with a suitcase full of novelties that the "From Portugal" entourage leaves for Paris. From July 6th to 8th, a selection of Portuguese underwear and beachwear brands will be one of the highlights of Unique By Mode City and Interfilière fairs, where the Portuguese delegation will present its new collections and contact buyers from around the world.

Paris, the capital of fashion, has for a few days turned all its attention to the world of lingerie and beachwear. From July 6th to 8th, the city hosts simultaneously two major international fairs, Unique by Mode City and Interfilière, where the next trends in intimate fashion and beachwear will be set.

The Portuguese fashion couldn’t fail to be present and will be represented by a wide selection of brands, with the aim of showcasing the best of Portugal’s production in the sector. Free Society, Iora Lingerie, Kitess, Sal de Pipa and Vaguedivague will be present at Unique by Mode City, while Bergand by Gulbena and Lemar will attend Interfilière, all with the support of Associação Selectiva Moda’s "From Portugal" project.

At the fair, the Portuguese brands will take advantage of the presence of the international community to present their latest collections. An example of this is the Vaguedivague, which at Unique by Mode City will introduce not only a new line of swimwear for women but also its first collection of board shorts for men. "We want to present our brand to the European market outside Portugal. This is our first participation in a swimwear fair, and we would like to achieve some orders," says Eliott Silhol, the brand’s founder.

Kitess will also present several novelties in Paris. "In addition to the new 2020 collection, we will have a capsule collection, with 15 pieces, inspired by a bohemian-chic look", says Inês Rodrigues Pereira, founder of the brand. After last year, the debut year, the brand has registered many contacts from buyers, and the expectations for this edition are even higher. "In a second edition, as people already know us, they are more likely to look for us, and we even have scheduled meetings with possible distributors," she completes.

At Sal de Pipa’s stand several novelties will also be presented. "We have a unique selection of patterns that we will continue to present to the international markets," explains Filipa Fialho, the brand founder, which specializes in resort & beachwear.

The Portuguese companies participation in Unique by Mode City and Interfilière is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of €12,118,285.17, of which €6,695,352.55 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
