PORTUGUESE CHILDREN'S FASHION MARKS ITS PLACE IN PARIS

The French capital is the next stop on the "From Portugal" entourage’s international route. During the three days of the Playtime Paris fair, Portuguese brands will present their new collections, with the 2019 Spring-Summer season already in mind.

PIUPIUCHICK - KNOT – SISSONNE

Between June, 30th and July 2nd, the world of children's and prenatal fashion will have their eyes set on Paris for another edition of Playtime, the event that annually brings together hundreds of clothing, accessories and footwear brands. This year, under the theme "Kindness", are expected to be presented more than 500 new collections.

To stand out in this huge business center, the Portuguese brands leave for Paris with a lot of novelties focused on next year’s Spring-Summer season. Knot, for example, is aiming to consolidate and increase its customer base by presenting a new collection, entitled "Sunrise". On the other hand, Sissonne will present a whole new collection of knitting under the theme “Flowlife – peaceful life”, and Piupiuchick also promises to bring to Paris some novelties, but Mariana Pimentel, the brand's representative, prefers to keep everything a secret for now: "For this edition, we have a great surprise to be released. A new range of products that are not expected from a children's clothing brand, but let's keep it a surprise!”

On a commercial level, the Portuguese brands keep their expectations high for another edition of Playtime. "It is our best fair," says Ana Magalhães, Sissonne’s representative, who hopes to attract new customers, especially from non-EU markets such as the United States, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Japan.

Rita Roxo, Knot’s Sales Manager, departs to Paris with the hope of repeating the last editions’ experience: "It has been very good because we have always increased the number of customers and we have consolidated the brand", she says. Likewise, Mariana Pimentel recalls the fact that Playtime Paris is visited by participants from all over the world, which is decisive for Piupiuchick: "Our bet is not based on geographical markets, but on the stores that look for trendy brands, such as Piupiuchick", she says.

The Portuguese companies participation at Playtime Paris is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP - Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese fashion companies. The project “From Portugal” is co-financed by Portugal 2020, under Compete 2020 - Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with an eligible support amount of € 12,118,285.17, of which € 6,695,352.55 comes through the European Regional Development Fund.
